  1. Warm greetings from Indonesia. My name is Rizwan Darmawan, and I serve as the Head of Partnership and Publication at the SEAMEO Regional Centre for Quality Improvement of Teachers and Education Personnel in Science (SEAQIS).

Since 2018, SEAQIS has been actively promoting STEM education across the Southeast Asian region, particularly in Indonesia. Our initiatives have evolved from raising awareness to developing contextual STEM learning models, including STEM in Local Contexts, STEM for Early Childhood Education, and more recently, the integration of coding and artificial intelligence into STEM learning.

Your book STEM by Design has been one of our main guiding references throughout this journey. The ideas and spirit you expressed in the book truly resonate with our mission. They have shaped the way we view and implement STEM learning that empowers teachers and makes science meaningful for students. We often say among our team that STEM by Design helped us find the right language to communicate what quality STEM education should look like in our region.
